Yesterday marked an emotional turning point in my life. I retired the tape deck in my car & for a new cd player. I spent all weekend listening to mixed tapes that I’ve been enjoying for the past decade+. My high school years were full of mixed tapes shared with very cool friends. Many of the tapes I still like very much. As a tribute to this landmark moment, I've recounted the playlist from Joe's tape, from Christmas 1994. *Sniff Sniff.* Goodbye tape deck.

Oh yes...I remember a lot of your mix tapes...and listening to them while driving around Greenhills...
maybe i could borrow your tapes...we still have a tape deck in our car. :)
You could just download all those songs from itunes and then burn them onto a cd. Then you could keep all your mixed tape memories forever!
ahhh, the lost art of mix taping. there's something so much better about a mix tape than a cd or a playlist, and i think it has something to do with the amount of time it takes to pick the songs, cue the tape, record the song (you can't speed these things up you know), not forget you're recording the song, etc. and then...if whomever you're giving the tape to is "someone special" you go all out on the tape cover.
yup. i love me some mix tapes.
