Fisher Price & Mattell Recalls

Lots of posts for today!

Okay Y'all. Check your toys against the recent recall lists from Fisher-Price and this one today from Mattel. Both are due to lead paint issues.

Toys include some Diego, Elmo, Polly Pockets, Doggie Day Care, among others.

Gosh, It seems like we have half of those toys! But you know that lead is in a lot of things you wouldn't even expect, like frozen corn and canned tomatoes! Emet had elevated lead levels at one of his checkups so I did a bunch of research. It scares me because lead can cause retardation in babies and toddlers. I'm pretty sure that our house is the major source though. Scary...

And to think that when we were tots we probably played w/ a whole host of hand-me-down toys that were toxic, rusted, and sharp w/o even knowing it...scary world out there!

Am I the only one thinking that maybe my kids only playthings should be paper and tape?? (Granted, my kids are a bit older than some of yours.)

Honestly, they'd probably have more fun!! And I wouldn't have to worry about perforated intestines...
