Advice? How to Display This?

When we got married, we received this beautiful crocheted (thing?) with our name on it. I'm so sad that I don't remember who made it for us, because I truly love gifts made by hand. I have never done anything with it, however, because I cannot figure out how to frame it in a way that reflects my style. SO, dear people...Do you have any ideas? I would love to figure out a way to frame it, without going in a Traditional Southern or country direction. I like simple, clean, classic...

Ideas? Anyone? Anyone?

why not just frame it with a simple black matte behind it? pin it to the matte so it doesn't sag or droop over time. I think it would be cool over an entry-way or perhaps fireplace?

I have two images, but I can't figure out how to go get the other link without closing this page. I'll just do two posts.

So, I like these two images of framed doilies. Since you have only one, the key to making it be your style may be to group it with other things that reflect your style???

we have one too and I've never framed it for similar reasons. I love Karina's ideas!

My mom has one that is in just a clear black frame that is just glass. (maybe in between two pieces of glass?) You can see the wall behind it so it has a more "modern" feel to it than putting on top of other fabric and then framing it.

My first thought was on top of solid black with a black modern frame. Or possibly another solid color with black frame or same color frame?

Carrie -- I have one that was my grandmother's and it is the top of a pillow that I use for decorations on my bed. Paulette
