Cars are big around here. It's pretty amazing, really. I did not encourage it at all. It's not that I discouraged it, but I just don't care either way if he's into cars. He just loves them. At 14 months, it really started coming on strong. He would turn to his book of words & just stare at the cars & trucks. By now, it's a full-fledged obsesssion. He carries these little cars around EVERYWHERE! To the dinner table, in the car, into bed. He can hardly part with these little things. You should see him when he loads up as many cars as he can into his arms & walks around the house. It's ridiculously adorable.

Cars
Cars are big around here. It's pretty amazing, really. I did not encourage it at all. It's not that I discouraged it, but I just don't care either way if he's into cars. He just loves them. At 14 months, it really started coming on strong. He would turn to his book of words & just stare at the cars & trucks. By now, it's a full-fledged obsesssion. He carries these little cars around EVERYWHERE! To the dinner table, in the car, into bed. He can hardly part with these little things. You should see him when he loads up as many cars as he can into his arms & walks around the house. It's ridiculously adorable.

My father would be jealous that he's not mine! He's always wanted a son/grandson who loves cars that much! So precious. At least you have a few years until he starts wanting to collect the real thing!;)
So cute!! My 3 year old newphew has been obsessed with cars since about the same age and still is. He loves playdough, but only wants to make cars, tractors, trailers, monster trucks, flatbed trucks, etc...I'm sure you're learning to identify all different kinds of cars.
I know what you mean about the cars obsession. We have a big collection too. For only 99 cents, it's hard not to buy them. Has Ethan seen the Cars movie? He would love it! Will loves sitting with Len and watching it. We've probably seen it 15 times.
well, he and jack should PLAY! we have a Cars obsession here too - actual cars and the movie "Cars".

My son, Matthew, who is now 3 years old, was the same exact way. It was a natural thing for him, too. He would sometimes just walk around the house with the same car all day, not really doing anything with it, but just holding it. He started with the little hot wheels, then his obsession moved to trains for a short while, then monster trucks. But now he pretty much likes any form of transportation toy: motorcycles, airplanes, boats, cars, whatever. It is amazing how boys just like boy things and girls like girl things.

All I can say is: Lance, Lance, Lance. Do you know that Lance has asked me to gather his Hot Wheels? I think he gets a little nervous when the grandkids play with them. If Ethan gets any cuter someone (probably ME) is going to pop!
